World renowned singer Shirley Verret dies at the age of 79, Miley Cyrus ready for European Music Awards
World renowned singer Shirley Verret passed away yesterday at the still young age of 79. Verret was an acclaimed American mezzo-soprano and soprano in an opera career that spanned four decades. She passed away in Arbor MI early Friday afternoon.
Verret was internationally renowned for blazing intensity in her performances as a mezzo for much of her career and a soprano later in life. She than battled racial prejudice in a predominantly white European-centered art form, as not only was she African-American, but her husband of 40 years was white.
Cyrus (17) on the other hand, is taking a whole new aspect to life. She was photographed in a famous dance club in Spains capital city, holding what was presumably a lime colored beer hanging with a bevy of boys.
