Delhi police nab 2 IM men in Chenai crime
India police have arrested two operatives in connection to the 08′ Delhi Serial Blasts, in hopes that bringing them back to the mainland will provide answers into the investigation that’s been pending for some time.
Mohammad Irshad Khan (50) and 20-year-old engineering student Abdul Rehman are suspected of being members of Indian Mujahideen. The special cell of Delhi Police arrested them while looking for Abdul Subhan alias Tauqeer, a top IM leader who played a key role in the 2008 Delhi serial blasts and is also suspected to be behind the September 7 Delhi high court blast, said sources.
Sources added that Irshad belongs to Delhi and had been provided shelter in Chennai by Abdul Rehman for the past few days. Rehman is studying engineering at Bharath Engineering College on the outskirts of Chennai and was staying in suburban Selaiyur, where special cell officers, along with IB officials and Chennai Police, carried out raids on Sunday night before the duo were held.
