Hip-Hop reigns supreme this day and age — and we’ve took the liberty of rounding up the 5 most influential names of 2011, so you know whom to watch out for in 12′. Who’d we catch? Well read on to find out.

The ‘Hov’ just turned 42 years old — and is still a baller.  Married to Beyonce, millions in his pocket — clothing brands, and record companies — is there anything Jay-Z doesn’t do?

2.)  Kanye West

Our favorite project of Kanye’s in 2011? Definitely his collaboration with popstar Katy Perry ‘E.T’. West is allegedly planning a new album in 12′  ‘suppose’ to be released shortly  after the 2012 Grammy‘s.

Undoubtfully the fastest rising star from Twitter of 2011. With more than 100,000 twitter followers — and a lengthy resume to match : is it really a wonder he was named our producer of the year?

4.) J. Cole

Certified gold this month — J.Cole’s riding high on the success even being an R&B newbie.  Even though he’s only been in the biz for less than a year, Cole’s proving he can stand his own ground even  pitted against some of the biggest names in music history.

5.)   Common

His albums always speak ‘Reality’ and often define his personality as an artist.  Even being a in the Veteran lane of hip-hop he still stands ground running with the younger generation.
