Blown over: Polish leaders unleash smokescreen that hid CIA secret prison in country
WARSAW, POLAND: Most thought the idea of a secret CIA prison was well rather uncanny and stupid at one point because of the fact that human rights groups considered the behavior by CIA agents done in these kinds of places unethical and borderline ‘torture’.
This week, a heated political debate took place in the country where revelations were made almost clearly acknowledging that the United States ran a secret interrogation facility for terror suspects in 02′ & 03′ in the Eastern European country. During the debate, some officials recounted the fear that prevailed after the sudden Sept. 11, 2011 attacks — and defended the tough almost extreme stance that former U.S President George W. Bush took against people believed to be terrorists.
These statements bring to light, a number of things. However according to the statements made by the country’s prime minister they’ve now decided to refuse to be a part of any future enterprise clandestine operations that could land them in hot water.
“Poland will no longer be a country where politicians – even if they are working arm-in-arm with the world’s greatest superpower – could make some deal somewhere under the table and then it would never see daylight,”
“Poland is a democracy where national and international law must be observed,” ‘This issue must be explained. Let there be no doubt about it either in Poland or on the other side of the ocean.”
In the midst of the debate, Prime Minister Tusk said an ongoing investigation proves that Poland remains a democracy and cannot be held accountable or (to be counted) in such future clandestine operations.
