In deep: Angela Corey, prosecutor in Trayvon Martin murder has quite the reputation
MIAMI, FLORIDA: When authorities appointed a special prosecutor for the murder of Trayvon Martin, quite a number of people were stunned to find out that person was none other than Angela Corey,54, a woman whom is widely known for trying children as adults instead of the other way around.
Alas, that isn’t exactly the only controversial thing she’s got a reputation for. Corey, is probably best known for putting more African American’s behind bars than any other prosecutor in Florida’s legal system (ever). When Angela Corey assumed a more prominent role in 2008, things surely did begin to change within the legal system itself.
Corey’s office is even wider known for trying as many people (with as many counts) as possible (translation: that they can actually prove) before a grand jury. A grand jury is required only in first degree murder cases, however, cases can almost always be sent to a grand jury when it reaches ‘controversial’ status or may cause a political fallout over an unpopular decision.
The issue with Corey, is that numerous people believe she will not prosecute George Zimmerman regardless of the key video released by ABC NEWS earlier this week. That video, can very well prove to prosecutors that George Zimmerman’s story had several holes in it beginning with his ‘alleged’ injuries.
But, with Angela’s reputation regarding children & African American’s doubt lingers over possible prosecution — as it is believed that she will protect the ‘Obstruction of Justice’ behavior shown by the Sanford Police Department.
