Sony buys cloud gaming service; what does that mean?

When tech giant SONY purchased cloud gaming service GaiKai for $380million, the rumor mill went into  overdrive. Speculation quickly grew as to what SONY had planned to do with the service itself, considering they are the makers of the PS3 console; which according to TechCrunch could ‘see its demise if the cloud gaming stuff takes off’.

What console do you prefer? Would you be a valued customer if ‘Cloud gaming’ took off?
