Obituary: Oscar winning producer Zanuck dead

LOS ANGELES, CALIF: According to a statement released by the family of Richard D. Zanuck, the iconic film producer responsible for bringing us the quirky Alice in Wonderland film (amongst others) died yesterday at the age of 77 inside of his Los Angeles home.

In 1991, Zanuck wonthe Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences’ Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, which has only been awarded 36 times in Oscar’s history .
