Oakland police warn of Craigslist robberies
OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA: According to the local police, more than 6 local robberies [via Craigslist buyers] have occurred this week. Authorities say each of the robberies occurred only because buyers had gone onto Craigslist attempting to buy merchandise for lesser prices; without properly having met the seller in a well populated place.
Local police are urging residents to meet any seller in a well populated area, and have even begun to offer the police department as a meeting place.
