This just in: Man kills 3 NATO troops at Afghan base
KABUL, AFGHANISTAN: The International Security Assistance Force announced yesterday that it had detained a man in connection to the death of three unnamed NATO soldiers whom were working on the base at the time of the shooting.
Officials denied to release further details on the identities of the soldiers killed as this marked the second shooting since Friday in the region by Afghan soldiers wearing security uniforms on base.
On condition of anonymity, a DDO [Defense Department Official] told Daily News that the three new soldiers killed were part of a SOM [Special Organization Mission] to stabilize a village in the Sarwan Qala Region.
The same official added that he believed Afghan enemies were intentionally devising plans to adhere access to the Afghan base by wearing security uniforms, to carry out the attacks.
