SPOILERS: A Killer Among Us (Review + fun facts)
With all the chatter about Lifetime’s newest movie — we thought we’d take the liberty of answering some of the impending questions that are bound to come up about the film.
Casting:
Nick Carleton (TOM CAVANAGH)
Detective Joseph Moran (BORIS KODJOE).
Alexandra ‘Alex‘ – Tess Atkins
After watching the film, we discovered that this is actually a true story loosely based on a case we’ve found happened in the late 80′s early 90′s.
Five key points in the film:
*Alex discovers that her father was having an affair, and has been for two years.
*Alex’s father lies about his affair, and even to her face. Promises the affair ended years ago.
*Alex plays private eye with the detective, without anybody else knowing.
*Alex pays a visit to ‘The Other Woman’.
*The hot cop totally makes this movie worth the watch.
I’ve already received requests asking me to finish the review [lol].
Midway point:
Alex finally decided to pay a visit to Ruthie, the woman her father has been sleeping with. The conversation didn’t go so well, for even Ruthie thinks ‘Frank’ did something to his wife.
Alex and the cop are discovered to be hanging out and working together by two other cops whom soon become suspicious and attempt to deliver photos of the two in the cops car back to the police chief.
Secretly, Alex finally decided to sneak into the basement to discover if her father has a ‘murder weapon somewhere’ which suspiciously turned up a birth certificate … low and behold for her father, that isn’t actually the name she’s known her father by.
Final point:
Alex’s father is now aware that Alex is aware of the affair, and things now become more suspicious than ever.
More suspicious than ever, Alex discovers that another man isin fact her father — due to a confirmation by a certificate. Alex is informed by her father [her actual father] that her mum hid the fact that Nick wasn’t her father.
Getting any clues as to whom the murderer is now? We’re getting warmer. At this point, as the movie begins to wrap up Alex decides to end her college prep classes before finally going back to meet the cop again.
The cop, now claims that Alex’s ‘father’ Nick put a hit out on her mum via her first husband Bruce Wilkin’sfor $5,000… Alas, this is all just a hoax movie lovers.
BA-BAM! Alex has located the murder weapon.. inside of her mum’s animal food inside of the family’s s basement..
Finally, again Alex re-meets with the detective to explain the fact that she had found a gun in the animal feed, the suspense commences.
Wahoo! 10 points for Alex aho made the responsible and ethical decision to turn in the gun despite fear that there will be nobody left t ocare for her brother and sister. EEK. Wasn’t it kinda hot to see the cop get all flustered with questioning his authority?
Long story short, the supposed father was actually the killer and tried to killer Alex when she threatened to go to the police with the gun.

You wrote this like an action-thriller novel. lol. BA-BAM u dork.
This isn’t a review.. its a play by play of the movie!! lol
The supposed father was not the killer… BA BAM!!! Still unsolved… BA BAM!!
Actually the father was the killer in the ‘True Story’ this movie was inspired by and played in the movie. The movie led up to his suspicion of murder, after the murder weapon was discovered and he was later arrested for both having the murder weapon and attempting to kill his daughter.
You stated that the husband put a hit out via the mom’s first husband, Bruce Wilkins. The mom’s first husband was Frank Brewster in the movie. Bruce Wilkins was a totally separate character – he was the one approached to kill the mom.
You misunderstood the spoiler ma’m.. ‘The cop claimed the father put a hit on on the mum via her first husband’ meaning the father attempted to have the mum killed by enlisting Alex’s real father to kill her except he wouldn’t do it.
I watched the movie yesterday. I completrly understand uour review meant the bio dad was approached first. My point was that he wasn’t involved in the muder plot at all. I believe the reviewer confused the character names because the person approached was NOT her biological father, Frank. Another character (Bruce) was approached. He said no, the husband then approached someone else (who was never found).
This was a live review ma’m.. It was written as he watched it.
