Lilly Ray: My secret diagnosis with breast cancer
Many of you don’t know me, because I typically spend most of my time behind the scenes covering stories on the ground instead of online like I use to. I stopped doing so, because I was ordered by my doctors to become more active.
See, last weekend I turned 22. I am now 22 years old, and have stage 2 breast cancer. About 2 months ago I was diagnosed with this kind of cancer, after my mother convinced me to go in and get checked because it had been a while.
Little did I know that my check-up would turn up the fact that I for some time had already had breast cancer, but didn’t know it. Thankfully, although I hadn’t discovered it for some time myself my doctors did tell me that I could undergo treatment and I’d soon be back to my old chipper self.
I made the decision to share my experience with breast cancer hoping it inspires other young women to come forth with themselves and get routinely checked. I myself, got so wrapped up in business and the joys my job brings me that I kind of failed in getting checked and ended up where I am today.
Unfortunately, I must subsequently announce that I will be stepping away until November of this year to tackle treatment without the added stress of my work. My mother whom I will only identify as ‘Galleria’ [to protect her privacy] has offered to take my place until I have completed my treatment, what a good mom.

You guys are some very open people on very selective topics. However I can’t be negative about this.. It’s very inspiring to see women coming together inspiring others on subjects like this.
