Decision looms for Chicago school teachers
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: As a 5th day of teacher-striking was completed, parents and even students banded together supporting the Chicago Teacher’s Union for a 6th day of striking in a last bid to reach the deal desired to head back to work.
While many believe students land back in class on Monday, no official deal has yet been reached according to a statement released by the Union
“The earliest teachers and other school personnel could return to their schools could be Monday; however, no decision has been made to do so,” the teachers’ union said in a statement. “Delegates, the elected leaders of their schools, have the authority to suspend or lengthen the strike. They could also ask for at least 24-hours to talk to individual members in their schools before making a decision on what to do next.”
