//]]>-->

Movie Premiere: A Mothers Worst Nightmare

Lifetime movie premiere: Saturday, Sept. 29th 2012.

Rating: ****

READ AT YOUR DISCRETION: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD

In the beginning of the movie, it’s almost immediately seen that a boy who (we think is later identified as Chris) was killed; why? Wasn’t immediately known until  the funeral scene hits whereas the crazy girlfriend is seen crying which sends the mum into a flurry.

A girl, whom appears to be the girlfriend or (the soon to be girlfriend) of Chris is accused of murder which sends her back to a ‘Safe House’ but not before she is forced to sign papers keeping out of prison; due to the fact that there wasn’t enough evidence linking her to any one murder.

In the midst of it all, Chris and his mum are going through a rift of their own due to Chris’s first girlfriend having broke up with him which left him depressed and unwilling to do most things he formerly did.

(..Let’s not forget to mention that Chris is really cute.)

Any teenage guy knows how bad it is to lose your first love, especially when you really did like them.  Chris’s first girlfriend makes it no secret that she likes to torture him by  dangling her new man in front of him.

(…. We were correct, the brunette girl who comes off as a bit crazy is all set up to become the young man’s latest catch).  Although she’s a bit strange because the school principal grants her enrollment in the school, but only on the condition that she stick to her previous rules of no fornication with the opposite sex.

Spoilers:

Vanessa says that her father was in the army, which happened to have obviously taken its toll on her.

(…Major spoiler..): Vanessa purposely made it look like the blonde guy whom happened to have been hitting on her dropped her papers but it wasn’t that way at all; only to, ironically  to talk to Chris whom is only in junior high.

(Oh la la… Chris Stewart is such a cutie… and its adorable that he stumbles over the girl because he thinks she’s cute..).

Quick question: What do you think is going to happen from this point? Come on, guess. We know you want to.

Vanessa is clearly skilled at the craft of luring in boys, seducing Chris using an ice cream cone [weirdly enough].  It’s almost scary that within less than 1/2 a date she’s pretty much got him reeled in.

WHOAH… SPOILER:

This girl is coo-coo for cocoa puffs, stalker crazy.  Vanessa apparently felt the need to follow Chris home from their ice cream date, pretending that she lost her keys but really didn’t.

(Not to mention she already knew his mum’s name).

Are we the only one who immediately suspected that upon Vanessa noticing who his former girlfriend was, that she’d immediately go in for the attack? Erm, yeah.

(‘If I see you one more time I’m going to smash a led pipe in your face’) (uhm, who noticed that she got a call from from a psychiatric ward? Eek).

If you could describe Vanessa in one word at this present moment, how would you describe her? Our word of choice,  hooker (she nearly looks like one).

‘Lieu’ an apparent friend of hers informs her that cops are looking around and asking questions about an obvious crime she committed before being shipped off to Fairview whereas she doesn’t seem to really care due to the fact she’s already got a new man.

Yeeow, during a hot make-out session Chris discovers that she has a bunch of ‘cut marks’ that are clearly inflicted  by a knife — but she claims that she got them from falling out of a window while playing tag with her little brother.

Not so surprisingly enough, the lies continue to rack-up. Vanessa than decided to tell Chris that she is a ‘foster child’ (which she actually is) but fails to merit the fact that she does in fact know who her parents are…).

(Mums out there, would you let some strange girl who your son brought home stay in your house without verifying her story beforehand? Oh my..).

The movie at this point gets really good considering Vanessa successfully (again lied) to Chris and his mum by claiming that she got locked out of her foster parents home because they’re ‘Super Old’ and ‘go to bed after dinner’ which if you ask me was a clear attempt to bed down at Chris’s house hoping to ironically fornicate with the opposite sex.

Tsk tsk, the things boys will do for a hot girlfriend. It’s almost laughable that Vanessa is so far good at what she does, Chris doesn’t have any idea that he’s being set up by a psycho running from the law. (literally).

Hmm… did anyone else notice that it was strange that the picture of the mum disappeared from the shelf  only to be found in the shelf? (Oo, hold on) scratch that let’s discuss the fact that she’s now got Chris wrapped around her finger (because she gave up the bits).

BUSTED BY MUMMY DEAREST…. (LOL!). That’s the typical teenage boy though right?  Hoping to get lucky, gets lucky, girl becomes prized possession.

Wrap-up:

The mum finally decides to phone the home of ‘Vanessa’ only to find out some damning information about the pretty girl her son is falling in love with.   So much, she decides to pull out a private investigator because she found out that Vanessa was only placed with her ‘foster family’ a month ago.

(Spoiler: Vanessa Redmund is actually an emergency placement from a different district).  Can we just talk about strange this girl is? Blood buddies is so 3rd year.

YOU KNOW THE DRILL.

  1. Shelly says:

Is the movie based on a true story?

    • Sydartha Ray says:

The commercial for the movie says so, however someone told me it wasn’t. Although actually watching the movie, it seems pretty darn ‘real’ as if it were a true story.

      • Lucas says:

So… I don’t get it. Who was her dad? That guy in her picture in the final shot? Did I miss something?

  2. Bj Hammer says:
