Parents make extraordinary rescue attempt from shooter
INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Local authorities say a man and a woman are considered heroes tonight after they reportedly survived a lethal gun-home invasion that ended the lives of two of their loved ones.
The attack, wounded an 8 year old boy, and a 6 year old girl, who remained in critical condition following the attack; however the father who attempted to shield his children from the attack later died in surgery from multiple gun shot wounds.
Authorities have not yet identified the father, 30, the mum 28, nor either of the children as of Saturday afternoon. A manhunt for the shooter is currently underway.
“What would motivate an individual to do this is inexplicable,” Inglewood Police Chief Mark Fronterotta said. Inglewood is adjacent to Los Angeles and its international airport.
