Cycling body officially strips Armstrong of 7 tour wins
PARIS, FRANCE: The governing agency for cycling has officially announced that they have stripped Lance Armstrong of all of his Tour De France titles from 99 to 05, which may or may not mean that they now must name new victors.
“Lance Armstrong has no place in cycling,” says International Cycling Union president Pat McQuaid. Armstrong lost his medals due to alleged doping after the U.S Anti-Doping Agency filed charges against the cyclist, who vehemently denies them.
