Surprise Surprise: Homeless NYC man is a homeless hoaxter
It appears that every intended charitable move isn’t exactly one that’ll be honored. Remember that honorable policeman who gave a pair of shoes and some footies to that homeless man in New York City? Well, according to reports that man is a hoaxster and isn’t homeless at all.
NEWSER dug to discover that the man isn’t homeless, and has a lifetime paid for apartment by the Homeless Veterans Society in New York City. His rent is paid for by that organization, and by his social security. [We're still not sure what happened to the shoes].
“I understand why it could be frustrating for New Yorkers,” he continues. “They see a person in this situation and they think no one has been helping. Outreach teams continue to try to work with him, but he has a history of turning down services.”
