Businessman linked to Jenni Rivera’s plane has strange bizarre record
In court records obtained by Daily News staffer Carter Alexander, new details continue to emerge in regards to the man behind the plane that killed Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera. According to court documents, Christian E. Esquino Nuñez the pilot of the plane wasn’t all that great of a pilot — to say the least.
Nunez was reportedly convicted of numerous crimes including falsifying aircraft documents, tampering with government inspection stamps, and even drug trafficking charges. Additional records revealed that Nunez also apparently owes millions in unpaid fines, state taxes, and even federal taxes. Some years ago, Nunez and his partner Lance Ricotta [Of Starwood Management] were convicted on numerous charges of creating and falsifying logbooks.
The Learjet in which that killed Jenni Rivera was not named in the federal lawsuit we first reported earlier this afternoon.
Daily News is attempting to local Christian Nunez, so far, attempts have been unsuccessful and his whereabouts remain unknown.
