US Suffers sudden mass killings every 2 weeks: Very real
In a country that labels itself ‘The land of the free, and home of the brave’ you’d think one might feel just safe at home, right? Well, most don’t and probably never have. Just days after the Newton (Sandy Hook) shootings, USA TODAY released a startling report that shows just about every 2 weeks the United States sees a mass killing.
- About 25% of the attacks featured multiple killers
- A third involved no guns; fire, knives, or blunt objects were among the alternate murder weapons
- These killers are older than the typical murderer: average age is 32
- Still, mass murders make up just 1% of all murders that occurred over the period. USA Today notes that, per CDC records, migraines and falls out of chairs killed more people.
