Obama grants U.S citizenship to Nigerian student
WASHINGTON D.C: In a rare move by the U.S Congress, President Obama granted a private bill to a Nigerian student over the weekend that allows him permanent residency within the country. Victor Chukwuekel, a Nigerian student who has in the past suffered severe injuries to his face is now a full fledged U.S citizen and plans to head straight into school.
Chukwuekel, suffers from a life threatening disorder known as neurofibromatosis — which causes massive tumors to grow on on his face.
“I was overwhelmed with joy; it was nothing less than a miracle,” the 26-year-old says. “Only in this country can so many miraculous and wonderful things happen to someone like me.”
