U.S census to nix ‘Negro’ from surveys
The U.S census bureau announced today that the organization plans to nix the word ‘negro’ from its surveys handed out annually. According to NEWSER, the move is part of anti-discrimination and an attempt to halt major use of such a term.
Instead of the word ‘negro’ used, the survey will now just say ‘Black’ or ‘African American’.
