Jodi Arias: Murderous monster, Or abused woman?

//]]>-->

Jodi Arias is questioned by prosecutor Juan Martinez in Maricopa County Superior Court in Phoenix

As a new week begins — so does the Jodi Arias trial. The young, mousey, librarian-looking woman we’ve watched on the stands for some 16+ days was famously accused of the savage murder of Travis Alexander. Arias was accused of murdering Alexander in cold blood — shooting him in the head, and stabbing him 27 times.

When she first took the stand,  many were wondering what had happened to the once vivacious blonde that we’ve seen in photographs as the trial has went on. Although, we’re sure that was a make-under due in part to the fact ‘blondes’ don’t always do so hot on the stand.

Strangely enough, Arias has already confessed to killing Alexander — but not in the way prosecutors have said she did. Arias has stuck to her defense that the killing of Alexander was in self defense, something that has not simmered well with just about anybody.

What scares me is this: Arias and prosecutor Juan Martinez have been in a grossly scary dance in the courtroom for about a month now. Let’s be real: Arias is straight scary, mostly because she’s lied so many times.   ‘Sociopath’ comes to mind watching this trial, trying to keep up with the updates to deliver them to the news, it’s madness.

The prosecution most notably denounced Arias’s claim that she rummaged through the closet frantically looking for a gun, when pictures of the closet (See: Daily News, Evidence Photos) appear to show a closet that is neatly arranged and well taken care-of.

Another strange take-away from the case? Arias apparently tried to wash the camera before authorities arrived on scene — proving that she tried to erase what ever was on the device itself.

The jury

Last week, in court an audio tape was played for the jury — which purportedly heard Jodi Arias say and we quote ‘No jury would ever convict me’. That type of arrogance was heard by the jury, which showed during the 100 questions they asked her last Wednesday.

Arias, again back-peddled when asked about her display of utter-arrogance and claimed that she said the comment only because she had planned on killing herself; hence the confident comment.
