Fashion Nova and Megan Thee Stallion Donate $25K to the L.A. Derby Dolls
Fashion Nova, a famous online fashion store known for its community-based initiatives, recently joined hands with Megan Thee Stallion, a celebrated American rapper, to donate $25k to the L.A. Derby Dolls.
This donation was in line with Fashion Nova and Megan’s philanthropic initiative dubbed “Women on Top.” This initiative was launched during the women’s history month, March, under the Fashion Nova Cares program, which runs activism and awareness campaigns. It focused on empowering women by supporting female-focused institutions, organizations, foundations, and women doing great things by giving them donations, grants, and scholarships.
Richard Saghian, Fashion Nova’s founder and CEO said, “We believe the world will be a better place when all women are provided the opportunity to maximize their potential. This program was created to give women a greater advantage as they pursue their passions.”
The beneficiaries of this initiative received $25,000 and above from a lump sum of $1M set aside for the empowerment program.
Los Angeles Derby Dolls, a volunteer-run all-female quad-skate banked track roller, was among the recipients of this donation. It received a sum of $25,000, which was channeled towards covering operating costs to help get the community back on track.
LA Derby Dolls thanked Fashion Nova and Megan Thee Stallion for their donation through a Facebook post that read, “Fashion Nova + Megan Thee Stallion selected us to receive a $ 25,000 donation and we are so incredibly thankful for the support of our mission !!✨🥳This donation helps up continue to cover our operating costs while our public games and training sessions are STILL on hold due to the pandemic. Thank you for believing in supportive sports that build people up through community and competition.💓”
